• How much does it cost to advertise a sale?

  The base price for advertising an estate sale is $39.50 and this gets your sale listed on our website, as well as 3 days in our daily email digest which is sent out nightly to subscribers in the area of your sale. For estate sale companies, we offer plans starting at $34.99 per month which includes being able to advertise multiple sales every month.

• How many people will my ad reach?

  The number of people who view your sale page depends on many factors but on average we see over 1,000 unique visitors per sale. The final number depends on where your sale is located, as well as how far in advance you post it, whether or not you apply any additional mailer days or upgrades, any additional marketing you do such as promoting your sale page on social media or via email, as well as factors such the quality of photos you use, types of items being sold, and the title of the sale.

• Can I edit or cancel my sale ad after it’s published?

  You can absolutely edit your sale after it's been published. The sale title, description, dates and times, address, photos, etc can all be changed very easily. Editing only becomes disabled once the sale has ended.

• What if I don’t know the dates of my sale yet?

  Yes, you can still publish your sale if you don't know what the dates will be yet, but it will not be included in our daily email and will appear at the bottom of webpage results. This is because we order the results based on time ending soonest by default.

• Can I hide the address for my sale until it’s close to starting?

  Yes, for improved security, you can choose a specific date and time at which the address for your sale will become visible. Prior to this date and time, users will only be able to see the city, state, and zip code of where the sale is being held.

• I don’t have any photos yet. Can I still advertise my sale?

  Yes, you can publish a sale without adding photos, but we encourage you to add photos as soon as possible. Sales with photos are viewed on average many times more than sales without photos.

• What types of sales do you allow?

  We allow in-person estate sales, online estate sales & auctions, live auctions, and combinations of all of these. We do not allow retail sales, yard or garage sales, or sales containing photos or items that are illegal or explicit in nature.

• How many photos can I upload for my sale?

  We allow you to upload an unlimited amount of photos to your sale, but we would suggest no more than 1,000. The average is between 100 and 200 photos.

• Are there any limits on the amount of descriptive text I can place in my ad?

  We allow you to have up to 50,000 characters in your sale description.

• Do the amount of photos or descriptive text affect the ad cost?

  Neither of these affect the costs. You can have up to 50,000 characters in your sale description and unlimited photos.

• What is an online sale format sale and how does it work?

  We support listing online sales with fixed "buy-it-now" prices or timed online auctions with bidding. If bidding takes place on another website, users will be guided to an external bidding URL that you specify, where they can then follow the instructions for registration and bidding. If you choose to conduct an online format sale directly on EstateSales.org, you will be able to upload items and specify things such as when bidding or buying opens and closes, what the prices are for each item, and many other options. Your items are then listed for sale in our Shop Online section as well as emailed to our opted-in subscriber list until your sale has closed. You can easily share your sale or auction page link to your email list and social media following. We offer many advanced features such as consignor management as well as invoicing with optional online payment integration via PayPal and Stripe.

• Does it cost more to list an online sale or auction than it does to list a regular estate sale?

  There is no additional cost to list an online format sale or auction. If the sale or auction is being conducted directly on EstateSales.org and not on an external website, we charge a small commission fee which is based on your plan type between 3% and 5% of sold items.
