This lot is for one Quart Jar of Homemade Concrete Pickles. Generously donated to this auction by our Foundation Chairman, Chuck Voigt and his sister Donna of Urbana, Illinois. In a recent newsletter article Chuck told of his gardening success and mentioned that he and his sister, Donna had made Concrete Pickles - thinking this must be some pickle, we asked them to donate a jar of those pickles to this auction - for those who aren't so kitchen efficient - or just someone looking for a taste of Illinois culinary history. If you don't win this auction you can visit the IHA Facebook page, get the recipe and make your own. Don't be a pickle-faced sourpuss - by missing out on Chuck and Donna's pickles. Donated to the auction by IHA Board Member Pat Kenny of Silver Spring, Maryland. This lot is for a wonderful, hand-blown and crafted Vintage Fenton Glass Hand Vase in rare Cobalt Blue. The Fenton Art Glass Company - founded in 1905, is located in West Virginia. The vase measures about 9-inches tall and 4.5-inches wide at the top. This vintage vase is approximately 50-60 years old and in very good condition for its age. There is a miniscule rough spot at the outer ridge of one of the top flutes...too tiny to show up in a photo and barely able to be felt. Fenton Art Glass Co. ceased traditional glassmaking in 2011. The factory site was demolished to make way for construction of a new elementary school. The original Fenton Gift Shop moved to a new location in July, 2017. Vintage Fenton Art Glass and new Limited Edition glass (made at Mosser Glass using the Fenton moulds) is exclusively at that Gift shop. Dried herbs being held in vase on desk are for display and not part of the auction, nor any items on the desk. This terrific item was donated to the auction by IHA Board Member Pat Kenney. 24 / 275 sold -
