A large naturalistic expressionist floral oil painting by French artist Silvere Boureau.

carved giltwood frame. In perfect original condition. The artist has exhibited in numerous locations
through the US and is considered a local artist who now resides in Bucks County, PA.

Artists statement:
When Silvère Boureau came from France in 1982, he was primarily an expressionist painter of the human form. However, the discovery of the American landscape and its interpretation by nineteenth century luminists, opened a new vision on painting. Boureau sought to experience the wilderness first hand, by hiking in remote areas in the backwoods of Maine, the Adirondack Mountains and the Grand Canyon. To stand on a mountain top and look as far as the eye can see without encountering any mark of human intervention remains an exhilarating experience for him. Especially coming from western Europe where the hand of man on the landscape is omnipresent, the discovery of “wilderness” was a revelation.
Silvère Boureau attended the Ecole Nationale Supérieure in France, where his work began in expressionist painting of the human form. Boureau changed his vision of painting with the discovery of the American landscape. He draws inspiration from the wilderness, with experiences such as hiking in the Adirondack Mountains and the Grand Canyon.

Boureau's work has been featured in many solo and group exhibitions. Additionally, his artwork is part of many corporate collections, such as Tiffany & Co., Mc Graw Hill publishing Co., and House Beautiful Magazine. He has painted numerous commissioned murals and paintings for private residences throughout the United States and France. Boureau was featured in the Home & Garden Television (HGTV) show Modern Masters. He has been a resident of Yardley since the 1980s.
