AFTER LOUIS GUILLAUME FULCONIS, FRENCH (1817-1873) A LATE 19TH CENTURY BRONZE FIGURE OF FORTUNA standing on a wheel, with a cornucopia in her right hand, dark brown patination, stamped Fulconis, raised on a black speckled circular marble plinth, This very popular model is often paired with Giambologna's Mercury. Fulconis studied at the Ecole des Beaux Arts d'Avignon before exhibiting at the Paris Salon between 1857 and 1872. He spent time working in Algeria and many of his pieces depict the inhabitants he encountered there. 32" tall fabulous bronze statue on double marble plinth base. The base measures 7" in diameter.
