DESCRIPTION: The subject item is an original, signed fine art print by noted and listed Swedish-American artist, Birger Sandzen. This important artist/teacher, who after immigrating from Sweden, settled in Lindbergh Kansas, was mostly known for the bright, jewel-like pallet of the post impressionist landscapes he painted of Graham County Kansas, and of the greater southwest. He also founded an important group of mostly Kansas print artists who gained international fame as the Prairie Printmakers. He taught both painting and printmaking at Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kansas for decades. This print features large trees shading a running creek bank in Graham County, Kansas with reflections on the water. Many versions on this theme run through Sandzen's work, especially his Kansas images. CONDITION: This print has been professionally cleaned and framed with acid free, archival materials. RECOMMENDATIONS: Do not hang in direct sunlight and/or expose to incandescent light for any extended period of time. APPRAISED FAIR MARKET VALUE: $ 875.
