very delicate in size and style is this lovely davenport desk. The top top folds up to display a writing table with the original purple felt writing area that pulls out for more space. The sides have compartments to store pens and ink. Two drawers of tiger maple and early knobs hold the letters. Four drawers on the right side have compartments for storage of papers and extra. The other side has four drawers also but they are faux front and do not open. Someone later added a drop down table of small size but that should be removed. It is held on by screws and though older it is not original to the desk. The desk comes with keys. The front and back do not conceal a hidden area as some of these davenport desks did. Measures: height of 37" Width: 14 12/" and Length: 16" there is slight chipping to areas of veneer on the bottom which you can see. typical with age. needs slight cleaning and polishing. very attractive antique for any room. carved legs.
