I was told this is a hand colored engraving originally made in 1737 by Johann Wilhelm Weinmann- Engarvings of Aloe Plants but unsure of which folio it is from. German botanist and pharmacist (1683-1741) This picture was found 20 years ago by the current owner with the tag attached, and the owner left the tag on the back for reference. I can only report what I’m told, but after a bit of research the information on the artist seems highly likely. However, I’m simply selling it as an engraving-artist unknown. I added photos to show texture of paper. I did not remove from frame to measure the paper for fear of tearing it, but if there is sincere interest in the piece I will do that. Please feel free to message with any questions. this piece does have a modest reserve.
