The washboard is just wonderful. Used to scrub the clothes in a washtub, it is carved dated on the top of 1870 .( you have to click on the photo to see it) Good condition nice patina and has a small(new) style eye hook a the top to hang. The box is a simple hand crafted pine box with incised carving of 1888 on the side. Measures: 11" by 7" by 5" nice color. Two butter paddles to keep in the box for decor or use. One is maple and one must have been used for making jam or something hot as it is a dark colored maple . It also has more of a thick backing. unusual. The measure about 9" in length. ,minor wood chipping on the darker spoon or butter paddle.
