Excelsior twin reversible toaster with overhead handle, late 1920s-1930's, (rare. )Up for auction is a very unusual toaster which was made by the Perfection Electric products co. Of new Washington, Ohio. On the top of the toaster, it has a handle which controls the opening & closing of both doors. The Bakelite handle on the top of the toaster is in excellent shape with no chips or cracks. It has 4 fiber feet on it.. When you turn the handle on the top of the toaster, it opens and closes the doors at the same time. It also turns the bread to the other side for toasting. This is a very hard toaster to find. The nickel plating has some pitting on it, otherwise it looks to be in nice shape for its age. Electric cord for the toaster, is in good shape. Unit is being sold as a "non-working" vintage electronic device that should be gone over by a qualified technician prior to use. It has not been restored and may have rust, corrosion or signs of use. Toaster Collectors Association: "An excellent toaster. This is the “second version”. The first version just had a knob to twist. Is wasn’t long before the manufacturer realized that folks needed more leverage to work the mechanism and the knob was changed to a lever. Example with the knob are very rare."
