This gorgeous hand painted porcelain teacup has the Maple Leaf Nippon stamp on the bottom. This mark was used by Morimura Gumi as early as 1891 and was used until 1911. This is the oldest Nippon mark. This exceptional piece has a very detailed and ornate design, with gold and burgundy red and multicolored roses. Condition is good; no visible cracks or chips, paint is generally in good condition with light wear, and one spot with an indent (possibly from when it was made). The bottom of the plate is not signed, as shown.
