This auction lot is for Two Knights of Pythias Lodge Ribbons. These banner ribbons are from New Maysville, PA. Maysville is an unincorporated "city" about 30 miles northeast of Pittsburgh. The Knights of Pythias is the first fraternal organization to receive a charter under an act of the United States Congress in 1864. The order was founded by Justus H. Rathbone, who had been inspired by a play by the Irish poet John Banim about the legend of Damon and Pythias. These are excellent vintage lodge items. Where you gonna find 'em.
