This was my first time working with Cheri and Jeff with Recollections Estate Services and I was so impressed! They were timely, definitely knew their business and were wonderful in their execution. We had an excellent estate sale, and they left the home broom swept and in great condition, ready for us to take the next step toward selling the client's home. When a relative suddenly died, I found myself overwhelmed by the requirement of liquidating the estate which consisted of a house and several outbuildings spread over 2 acres that were full of years of accumulation. I knew it was far, far beyond a garage sale or other means that we could handle but I hated the idea of bringing in an estate sales business. I had heard so many horror stories of shady business practices, questionable integrity and horrible outcomes that I just didn’t want to go there – but I had no choice.

Fortunately, a neighbor suggested that I contact RES (Recollections Estate Services). I contacted Cheri and Jeff and they came out to the property for a walk-through and interview. We peppered them with questions about their business and how they conducted sales, and we were thoroughly impressed with their candor and friendly willingness to talk. They came across as truly nice people, totally honest, hardworking and very knowledgeable about estate sales. I have considerable experience with hiring, interviews and gauging people, and I found myself completely comfortable with their proposal. We hired them that day and one of their parting comments was, “Don’t worry, we’ve got this”, and that’s precisely what happened.

RES conducted an excellent sale, did what they’d said they would do, and they did it on time. They put a lot of work into cleaning and preparing, staging, researching and pricing items for sale. They did a great job communicating with us and making sure that we knew what was happening. By necessity, the sale was spread out among the different buildings, but they were ready with wonderful, friendly staff and a plan to handle the crowd. When it was all done, the property was empty and ready to be sold.

I would highly recommend RES to anyone in need of assistance with an estate sale. If I ever have to do this again (heaven forbid), they will be the ones I call.

After the death of our father we were faced with the physically and emotionally daunting task of getting the family home ready for sale. After more than 60 years in a big old house that is now more than 100 years old, the job seemed almost insurmountable. We sorted through decades of memories. piles of paper, and lots and lots of old “stuff” and finally hired Recollections to orchestrate and manage an estate sale for us. It was a great choice: after the family had gone through everything Jeff and Cheri came in and took over the process of sorting, preparing, and displaying a huge collection of items big and small. From little knick-knacks to appliances and clothing and historical items, and even a piano, they made sense of all of it. In the process they got rid of the items that were broken and falling apart, and frankly a lot of things that were just old junk, taking them to the landfill or recycling them as appropriate. After more than three weeks of very long days they staged a busy and successful sale. After the last customer had left, they had a resale company come in and take away virtually everything that was left.

The end result was that we had an empty house, broom clean (even the basement!) and the family received a nice check that we donated to the OSU Foundation to help fund a scholarship for deserving students. The whole process was done with kindness and good humor, and Recollections made the difficult task of saying goodbye to the home we all grew up in as smooth as possible. We recommend them without reservation. They were great.

The Process and The Blessing.
We interviewed several auction/estate businesses and found Jeff and Cheri were the perfect fit for our project. It truly was a Blessing to get to work with them. Our family enjoyed their humor, kindness and above all the work ethic and talent that they used to pull together the estate sale for two long standing Sweet Home businesses. We were fortunate to hold this on the last sunny weekend in mid-October 2022.They have a significant following that attend and also utilize the local media services to attract an excited crowd. We were amazed at the amount of product Jeff could sort through, set his tables up and display in a very attractive manner at an incredible pace. Their knowledge of presentation is tremendous. We truly enjoyed Cheri and her crew that helped customers accumulate their purchases before checkout in such an organized manner. They have a game plan that works very efficiently. Cheri works behind the scenes uploading the photos and getting out the advance advertising. We had a wide variety of items and they always coordinated with us on any questions, input or suggestions we had. You couldn't ask for a better team than Jeff and Cheri !!! Recommended 100%.

Recollections Estate Services is the absolute best. Cheri and Jeff are the most amazing people. They have an unparalleled work ethic; they are honest, knowledgeable, helpful, caring, and have a quick sense of humor. I found them to be great people.

Ginormous Ranch Sale was what they called it, and aptly so. We had a vast number of items from the tiniest tacks to large farm equipment that needed to be sorted, cleaned up or thrown away, then displayed and prices marked. Jeff was here nearly every single day for a month before the sale, working from 8:00 a.m. or before until 4:00 p.m. Cheri was here nearly every day also but spent some days home to complete the computer work which included the 120+ photographs she had taken. In the evenings they researched some of the more obscure items for prices. Cheri and Jeff worked hard after the sale as well; cleaning up and leaving the place as immaculate as was humanly possible. This sale was not one for the weak or faint of heart.

After interviewing several companies, I chose Recollections Estate Services. It was a lengthy process. One I didn’t particularly enjoy. But, overall, it was well worth it. They were the first I interviewed but, like most of my shopping, I had to see what else was out there. About a month after we first met and shortly after my final interview, they called me; just to touch base and say they were still interested. I was so happy and relieved. Because the interview process had taken so long, I was hesitant to phone them even though I knew they were who I wanted. They came out, we toured the property a second time and , as it is said, the rest is history .

I am very grateful my brother found Cheri and Jeff to do the estate sale for my parent's house. It was full of furniture, housewares, gift items, clothing, jewelry tools and so on. Jeff & Cheri & Mom ~ are the Hardest working, Honest, Caring folks when put to a task..Recently a neighbor passed and I suggested them to handle the Estate.. To be really honest ~ if I would been asked to handle this HUGE challenge, I would have ran in the other direction and said NO way. But in the summer heat, Jeff and their crew (his Mom too) worked day after day-sorting, cleaning, cataloging, pricing, preparing for the estate sale.They marketed it well and it was a Big Success, by the amount of people who showed up and kept coming all weekend. Our family would like to give a huge shout out to "Recollections Estate Services" and their incredible staff for the estate sale they held for mom the weekend of July 14th, 2017. After living on the property for over fifty years you can only imagine the amount of stuff that had accumulated. Mom, being an avid antique collector all of her adult life had lots of treasures. It was overwhelming to say the least! Being a living estate sale, mom took some of her most special treasures with her when she agreed to downsize. One of the saddest times in a persons life is when you have to have an Estate sale to sell all your parents possessions. Luckily for me, I got to have a Living Estate Sale while my father is still alive. It made it a bit easier for me having his help on what he wanted to let go of and let me tell you, it was a tremendous amount of stuff. "Recollections Estate Services" did an Estate Sale for us in March 2017. Everything was done in a very professional manner. They did everything they promised to do. They looked up the value of all of our antiques and collectibles and priced them accordingly, so that everything would sell at a fair price. They even offered to come back for the remainder of our estate when we are ready to move.
Also, all articles that are not sell-able will be disposed of, making our move a lot less stressful.
