Pair of mid-century wooden plant or figurine stands. "Paddles" can be positioned to face any direction. Larger stand is 43" tall, smaller is 33" tall. The previous owner took them apart at the base - easy to do, one screw - and turned the paddles upside down for a flat wood look - the other side has a CORK lining (I guess to catch the water from potted plants). Original Reunion medal from the 1903 gathering of the United Confederate Veterans (UCV) in New Orleans. Grosgrain ribbon still holding together (barely). Maltese cross at the bottom reads "United Daughters of the Confederacy to the U.C.V. Made by the Schwab Company of Milwaukee. A real collectible. 4 inches long. As found. 153 / 1104 -

There were several Confederate Veteran Reunions held in New Orleans - 1903, 1906, 1927. This medal is from the 1906 reunion, which was one of the largest. Several different commemoratives were struck, but this one was reserved only for the VETERANS themselves. Made by Schwab & Co. - brass. In somewhat rough condition, as shown.
