These woodblock prints are from a large set )101 drawings) Salvador Dali (died 1989) did in the 1960's - "The Divine Comedy", a story of a soul's travels through Hell, Purgatory, and Heaven. Both are numbered 44/150. The one on the left is titled "The Angel" is No. 2 in the series - print measures 10" x 13", framed it's 17" x 21". These were published in Paris. The print on the right is the same size and is titled "The Splendor of Beatrice". Note: even though these are pencil "signed" I must tell you that many of these prints on the market have spurious "signatures". Dali was prolific and changed his signature over the years - however, I am suspicious because these came from the same set and the same gallery and the signatures are very different. I am sure the woodblocks are genuine, but not sure about the signatures. Do your own research - there are many articles on line about this series - and you be the judge. Absolutely no returns. There is another pair in this series later in the auction. 219 / 809 sold -

This vintage piece is sturdy and complete, but needs a refinish or a chalk paint job to bring out its former beauty. Front right leg needs some tightening. 40" across, 32" tall, 21.25" deep. Has pull down cover and pigeonhole drawers, but two regular drawers. These were called "spinet" desks because when the cover is completely down they resemble an old-style spinet piano. 231 / 809 sold -
