The subject item is a rare and wonderful porcelain piece of Hungarian art pottery inspired by the work of Zsolnay. We cannot verify it is actually by this studio. a company established in 1853 by Miklos Zsolnay, whose pieces won prestigious prizes such as The Grand Prixe at the World Fair in Paris in 1878 for its art pottery. This Art Nouveau vase showcases his classic work using his self-developed eosin glazed porcelain. The female fairy form, shown in a soft, gold-washed light matte green, is wrapped seductively around the lip of the iridescent magenta body of this porcelain vase. A second fairy swims in the rippling water at her fingertips. The vase is stamp-marked on the bottom. CONDITION: The vase is in perfect, original condition with an exceptionally lustrous finish.
